The Principles of End of Life Care

The Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care can give you the knowledge and understanding needed to care for patients approaching the end of their lives.

Course Overview

End of life care provides support for people approaching death, enabling them to live their lives as well as possible until they die. It covers a wide range of care settings, including hospices, care homes, care in the community and primary care.

What you'll learn

This course is made up of 5 units:

  • Understanding end of life care
  • Communication during and of life care
  • Assessment and care planning in end of life care
  • Person-centred approaches to end of life care
  • are during the final hours of life and bereavement care
Eligibility Criteria

This course is government funded, you must meet the following criteria to be able to study for free:

  • You must currently live in England    
  • You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study    
  • You must be over the age of 19  
    • If you are between 19-23 you are eligible regardless of employment status
    • If you are 24+ you will only be eligible if you earn less than £25,000
      • Learners earning below £25,000 will be entitled funding for Level 3 qualifications
      • Learners earning above £25,000 will be required to take out an Advanced Learner Loan
