Understanding Technology Enabled Care

In this fast-moving world, technology plays a huge part in daily life. The care sector is no different. This qualification helps you understand the positive impact technology can have on people and the improvements it can make to their quality of life.

Course Overview

Technology Enabled Care (TEC) is playing an increasing role in health and social care, with over 1.7 million vulnerable people relying on TEC to support independence in their own homes.

You will learn about different types of TEC available and how they can support people's independence and well-being.

What you'll learn

This course is made up of 4 units:

  • Introduction to technology enabled care that can be used to help support an individual's quality of life
  • Understanding a person-centred approach to technology enabled care that can support independence, health and well-being
  • Understanding roles and responsibilities in relation to technology enabled care
  • Introduction to legislation, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements relating to technology enabled care.
Eligibility Criteria
This course is government funded, you must meet the following criteria to be able to study for free:
  • You must currently live in England    
  • You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study    
  • You must be over the age of 19  
  • You must not be on an apprenticeship

There is a £125 cancellation fee if you enrol and do not complete or withdraw from the course. This fee is to cover administration costs.

This course is funded by the government's Adult Education Budget, which means you may be able to study for free.

How Long Is The Course?

The duration of this course is seven weeks.

We refer to our online courses as 'flexible learning' because they're designed to be completed around your work and home life commitments. All deadlines for your course will be shown in your online course platform once you are enrolled to help keep you on track.
