If you work in health and social care, you need to understand the fundamentals of safeguarding in order to protect the health, well-being and human rights of the people you care for.
Course Overview
Our level 2 certificate in Understanding Dignity and Safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care will teach you about the key principles of dignity, duty of care and safeguarding.
This course also covers the dilemmas you might face when working in adult health and social care, the responsibilities you have to the people you care for, and what can happen if care principles are not properly upheld.
What you'll learn
This course is made up of 4 units:
- Learn the key principles of dignity, duty of care and safeguarding
- Investigate the principles and how they are applied
- Examine dilemmas that can arise
Learn the consequences when care principles are not upheld
Eligibility Criteria
- You must currently live in England
- You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study
- You must be over the age of 19
- You must not be on an apprenticeship
There is a £125 cancellation fee if you enrol and do not complete or withdraw from the course. This fee is to cover administration costs.

The duration of this course is seven weeks.
