Mental Health in the Early Years

Course Overview
Whether you're involved in working with young children or just have a keen interest in the subject, it's crucial to acknowledge the importance of a child's emotional well-being.
You will learn about statutory requirements that are needed in early years settings, including the vital role of the key person in supporting children.
What you'll learn
This course is made up of three units:
- Mental health for young children in the early years
- The significance of attachment and adverse childhood experiences for young children in the early years
- The role of the Early Years Practitioner supporting mental health and wellbeing for young children in the early years
This would be particularly useful in a career in nursery work, teaching assistance or as a learning mentor.
Eligibility Criteria
- You must currently live in England
- You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study
- You must be over the age of 19
- You must not be on an apprenticeship
There is a £125 cancellation fee if you enrol and do not complete or withdraw from the course. This fee is to cover administration costs.

This course is funded by the government's Adult Education Budget, which means you may be able to study for free.
